Hey witches, it's your girl Roxy here, and I'm about to get real AF with you today.
I know it's Thursday, which means it's Chaos Chronicles day, and I had this whole spicy post planned about how Christians totally jacked Easter from the pagans and other heathens (which they absolutely did, let's be clear). But the truth is, I'm just not in that headspace right now.
The Magical Facade Comes Down Sometimes
Listen, I'm all about the sparkle and sass most days, but being a witch isn't just about the pretty aesthetic and perfect altar photos. Sometimes it's about acknowledging when the world feels too fucking heavy to carry your normal magical vibration.
My son is autistic, and after all that bullshit RFK spewed yesterday, I've been in a bit of a spiral (and I don't mean the fun, dancing-under-the-moon kind). I'm talking about the "this country is in the toilet" kind that goes even deeper than my normal semi-existential dread.
Because here's the truth: there are people who actually believe what he's saying, and that terrifies me as a mother.
The Magic Community Stands For All
The fact that my trans friends (and trans people in general) are learning that people care more about a fictional wizard than actual human beings is absolutely heartbreaking. As witches, we know better than most what it's like to be othered, feared, and pushed to the margins.
And the reality that at any moment, any of us could be locked up or sent away without due process just for speaking our minds and challenging the horrible shit that's happening? That's not some dystopian novel plot – that's our current reality.
Finding Light In The Darkness
So no, I don't have a fun Easter post about egg symbolism or spring fertility rituals today, and honestly, I'm not going to pretend everything's fine when it isn't.
What I do have is a little gift for you – something practical for those days when the world feels like too much. Below is a downloadable daily tracker that you can use in your planner or print out for those days when you need to remember to take care of your basic witch needs. Because sometimes magic starts with making sure you've had enough water and remembered to take your meds.
We Rise Together
Stay safe out there, my witches. Remember that you're loved, and no matter how bad things seem, there are still good people in this world fighting for what's right. Including you. Including me. Including all of us who refuse to be silent when silence equals complicity.
Sometimes the most magical thing we can do is just hold space for each other's humanity. Today, that's the spell I'm casting. I hope you'll join me.
