Listen up, my magical babes - let's have a real talk about practicing witchcraft when everything's going to shit. Because let's be honest, right now, the world feels like Mercury retrograde got drunk and decided to crash at Saturn's house indefinitely. 🌙
Whether you're dealing with rent that's higher than a dragon's flight path, bank account energy that's giving "cursed vault" vibes, or relationships that need more cleansing than a second-hand ouija board - your witchy practice might be feeling the strain. And don't even get me started on waves hands at the general state of the world
The Bullshit Advice You've Probably Heard
"Just Power Through It, Witch!"
Oh honey, no. When your fight-or-flight response is giving more performance than a full moon ritual, and your energy is bouncing between "caffeinated squirrel" and "exhausted zombie," maintaining your regular practice isn't just hard - it's potentially damaging. You wouldn't cast a spell with cursed ingredients, so why would you practice with cursed energy?
"Focus ALL Your Magic on the Crisis!"
Look, I get it. When shit hits the fan, you want to throw every crystal, herb, and candle you own at the problem. But here's the tea: tunnel vision in magic is about as helpful as Mercury retrograde in your career house. You might be so focused on manifesting one specific solution that you're blocking the Universe from sliding into your DMs with something better.
"Just Take a Break and Come Back Later!"
Spits out moon water Excuse me? This is like ghosting your deity when you need them most. Sure, your energy might be messier than a kitchen witch's spice cabinet during a full moon baking session, but completely disconnecting from your practice? That's like unfollowing your spiritual support system right when you need the notifications most.
The Real Deal: Your Magical Crisis Survival Guide
1. Blend That Magical Shit Like a Pro
Time for some kitchen witchery wisdom: just like you wouldn't make a potion with only one ingredient, don't limit your magical response to one approach. Mix it up:
Cast spells for the immediate crisis (because duh)
Throw in some self-care magic (try a charged bath bomb or crystal-infused candle moment)
Keep feeding the good stuff in your life (yes, even when it feels impossible)
2. Get Your Hermit On (Strategically)
There's a reason The Hermit is a major arcana card and not just some guy who ghosted his coven. Use your downtime like a sacred space:
Set up a cozy altar corner
Roll out that meditation mat and ground yourself
Journal those feelings (because shadow work doesn't stop for a crisis)
3. Stay Connected (But Make It Sustainable)
Your spiritual connections are like your Instagram followers - they notice when you go MIA. But instead of completely ghosting:
Scale back rituals if needed (a 5-minute meditation > no meditation)
Keep your altar fresh (even if it's just switching out a candle)
Spill the tea to your guides (they've seen worse, trust me)
The Bottom Line
Look, my witchy warriors, crisis moments are like that one relative at Yule dinner - challenging but temporary. You've got this, and your magic isn't going anywhere. Keep breathing, keep casting, and remember - everything is figureoutable with the right spell (and maybe a bit of help from your spiritual squad).

Don't forget Talisman's and charms. Create them with charged intention for their purpose, layer the magic wih herbs, crystals, trinket and word charms. Charge them by the appropriate moon phase, day of the week, or ruling planet. You can tuck the herbs in lockets, or you can buy teeny tiny little glass balls (seriously, like the size of small blueberry) - put the crushed herbs in, glue the cap on. Make word charms with alphabet beads. Choose trinket charms to correspond, key and lock for protection, heart for love, etc. I've been making key chains, zipper pulls, purse jewelry, necklaces and bracelets - anything I can carry or wear.
This is funny and spot on. I'm a hermit naturally but been going deeper lately and trying to stay connected has been a challenge. Talking gvwith others and reading this post helped a lot.
